harley-davidson-fat-boy-2000-flstf-szabolcs-blasko-1400

Glimpse of a childhood dream that came true. Oh-boy, oh-boy, oh-boy, what a pleasing object both to ride or just to look at! Whoever designed this did not live in vain.

Bought with a couple of hundred km-s short of 81000. It is from the year 1973... :) I kid, it's from 2000 (the latter part of 1999 actually). The same model Arnold Gretanegger, playing the T-800 in Terminator 2 had under its bony arse. The Harley Davidson FATBOY. Metal on metal. Sounds like a category on pornhub. Visually it might as well be. When the machines take over this dehumanized, idiocracy, robots will watch sequences from T2 and no doubt polish their shafts until sparks come out.

Got carried away, sorry. Can't even BEGIN to describe how much I drooled over one of these ever since seeing the movie (nice move marketers at Harley). Which was not yesterday. In the future (if it doesn't get altered), my mini-me-s will inherit this, unless uncle K.Schwab will tax me out of it. Until then, take care of it, I will. Mmhhhh. Kids, if you are reading this, you betta' recognize'.

When we first saw it live (at the previous owner) I was awestruck. Seemed perfect, spotless. Been kept in a garage and all. After the initial joy wore off, like with everything, you start noticing the little imperfections. Not that that deterred me from ownership or anything, but it has seen a few winters. Still it was a good deal for what it was with lots of extras, most of which I took off and sold.

Like the windshield/leather pouch combo, sissy bar. Still have the leather saddlebags, front fender trims. The chrome soft-tail-toolbox, gone. It was a bitch to take off. Local weather seems to have "welded" it. No amount of WD40 seemed to help.

Took it to the local Harley-Davidson dealership for an assessment. The experience was kind of disappointing but more on that later. That is it for now. Check back for updates if you are interested. Plan on taking you along on this journey. Will update here, photos, videos, part upgrades and experiences.

Thank you for tuning in! Tu-dum-tumm-du-dumm.
